In 2014, he worked in partnership with Impact Soundworks on Pearl Concert Grand, and hopes to some day make a living off of creating and distributing sample libraries.
He decided one day to try recording a piano library, which he released as Piano in 162. Simon Dalzell is an undergraduate at The University of Arizona. Piano in 162 features five dynamic levels, two round robins, and separate pedal on and off samples for a true to life sound with realistic sympathetic resonance. Piano in 162 was recorded at 96kHz through two pairs of Rode NT5 cardiod microphones, an ambient pair in the hall and a close pair inside the piano. Allows for mixing, loading, and purging of the close and ambient mics to fit the library into any mix or genre.
